HORIZONTAL Stripes:Trend Alert ,Breaking Myths and OOTD

Horizontal stripes is one of the hottest trend this spring summer. Today on the blog we have celebrity stylist  Cristina Ehrlichis, Hollywood's go-to expert for putting together solid outfits and is the name behind some of the Hollywood's most stylish. In a recent interview with an international fashion magazine she talked about year's biggest trend, 'Horizontal Stripes' : Don't be afraid of horizontal stripes ."I really want to help women understand that stripes do work on all body types."

My take:
There's a sort of myth and fear that horizontal stripes are going to make you look bigger, and it's really not true.  Instead, a horizontal on top or bottom just needs a perfect pairing.One rule I totally swear by when sporting such trends is, Understand your body-type and dress accordingly. If you have print on top,wear solid on bottom and if you want to wear a printed bottom wear solid on top.

That's how I styled my Outfit a few weeks ago for a day out with girls.

I am wearing :
I styled this outfit keeping the same rule in mind. I paired this black-white horizontal stripes high-waist skirt with a denim button-down shirt .To accessorize the look I added some bright neon and bling accessories to add a dash of my personal style to the look.

Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ premieres at DT Cinemas

Widely acclaimed American drama had its first show in India at Vasant Kunj this Wednesday

New Delhi, March 21, 2013: Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo Di Caprio and Samuel L. Jackson had its first screening in India at DT Star Cinemas, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi amidst much excitement and celebration marking DT Cinemas’ ten glorious years.

The premiere show was followed by a bash at Club Sirrocco and was attended by Delhi-based socialites and celebrities that included Dr. Geetika, Dr. Varun Katyal, Ms. Rooma Sekhri, Ms. Sona Goyal,  Ms. Raveela Sharma, Ms. Swati Modo, Mr. R.P. Singh, Mrs. & Mr. Sanjeev Nischal, Mr. Venus Jain, Ms. Shaily Khera and Mr. Aamer Zakir.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Amit Shah, from the marketing team of DT Cinemas said, “The Oscar nominated  movie’s premiere has received a positive response and people are gathering at the cinema halls in large numbers for the movie.”

The party at Club Sirrocco witnessed celebration with people from the media, Delhi-based celebrities and winners of the online contest on the movie. “Everyone had a fantastic time” added Media and Events partner EMX World’s Director Mr. Sam Singh. Mr shekhar sharma  at the event commented “it was great to see the turnout and high spirits of our guests at the do”

Forever classy and sexy Posh a.k.a Victoria Beckham's secret to look slim is Out.. Usually she is seen carrying over-sized bags and if reports are to be believed this helps her look thinner. To this designer Pam Mehta had to say, " Yes it's true. Always Pick a large structured bigger bags in darker and neutral colours to balance your curves and covers the waist are with its width. If you carry large structured bags you will look thinner." 

She also added, "The trend is slowly picking up in India too. With the influx of trendsetting bag and accessory brands we see more and more big bags in focus to complement and curvaceous Indian woman. " 

"International brands like Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Fendi, Hermes, Etro and Bottega Venetta are truly epic in bringing trendy big bags."
