Guest Post: OOTD- Lace Love

Well, lace has long been a part of fashion and it's history. From past few months whether it's a statement bag, blouse, dresses or even in evening gown, lace has surely caught our attention in someway or the other.
I got this blue lace dress from Forever New, back in Australia, and took it to flaunt finally. This asymmetrical dress with quater sleeves highlights the waist line with the satin belt and compliments my curves. The inner lining reveals just enough skin which makes it sensual and feminine at the same time.

It's a versatile dress and could be styled in so many ways, like by adding a different color belt, a blazer, statement jewellery, pumps pearls. One dress can give you so many chic looks because there are no rules to flaunt this beautiful lace dress.

Outfit Details:

Dress-Forever new
Shades-Kenneth cole
Watch-Guess
Bag-Aldo
Bracelet-Forver new

OOTD POST: Summer Love

My last OOTD was sort of an experiment, rather random. But, when I decided to shoot the second one with my photographer friend, Jay, it had to be better than the previous one.

This outfit styling post portrays my love for summer. Yes, I love Summer, I love the sound of it.. from flowers to colors, clothes to lemonades, practically everything it offers, except for the drying heat. It leaves me dehydrated. But lets concentrate on the positives ONLY and take a look at the pictures *__*

About the outfit: I styled this Forever21 string dress in facebook blue color with tan and coral, one of my favorite combinations. The coral lady bag is from Zara and the footwear is from D&A, Delhi ( last seen here), necklace from Zara and rings and bracelets are from Blur and Forever21, all in gold. I am wearing aviators from MacV, Mumbai.

Makeup is neutral and understated, keeping in mind the weather and outfit. I love gold, you'll always find gold dominating my accessories. This bag and necklace are my most treasured possessions from Zara and these block heels in tan and coral are the most comfortable pair of heels I own. This is my perfect no hassle summer look, a basic summer dress, a sling bag, comfortable footwear, not too many accessories, a great pair of sunnies and you are good to go. Rose water spritzer from Forest essentials, sunscreen with SPF40 from Clinique, water and these aviators sunnies are my favorite summer staples. What are your summer staples? do share with us!

I'll be back soon with another interesting post :)

OOTD POST: Sheer Love

I know how hard it is to style sheer outfits, you need to be really smart playing 'Peek a boo' while styling them *__^ . So, what better than an outfit styling post for some sheer inspiration and comeback to my favorite outfit posts on the blog, rite??

For this post, I collaborated with a talented young photographer, Jay Trivedi (I'll link his profile in the credits). Honestly, this post was more of an experiment, as sunlight was dying and we could only shoot for a couple of minutes; sounds totally random, rite? But the result ain't that disappointing. I hope!

So, if you guys  find this outfit styling post helpful, do shower some love upon us. My little photographer and I would really appreciate that. More specific details of the outfits would be available at the end of this picture heavy post. Merci!

I styled this sheer shirt, that hides just enough and at the right place *__^, which was a thrift find with a Mango skinny pants, D&A strap sandals, Accessorize bag in tan, Forever21 India accessories and Aldo watch.

Anushka Sharma: Fashion's New Darling?

Over the last 6yrs Anushka Sharma has gone from a Punjabi girl next door to a  boho, Haryanvi girl sporting quirky tattoos all over her body. She has certainly proved her mettle as an actress and is here to stay. There is an apparent change in her appearance  Yes, she is more fashion concious now,( not that she was a fashion disaster before) that sure shows in her recent appearances and cover shoots. If gossip mongers are to be believed, this fashion's new darling is sporting a plastic smile( couldn't find better words for- lip job). I sure find something weird with her lips, but who cares till she gives us such stunning appearances.

Her personal sense of style sure has taken a shift form Classic to Androgynous. She has become more bold and experimental with her looks, the best example I can give rite now is the forehead fringe she is sporting these days. Initially, she seemed a little Priyanka Chopra from InMy City to me, but now it's totally Anushka. Her stylist is brilliantly amalgamated her new hairdo with smart styling. I am a fan of her recent ELLE India cover, her airport and red carpet looks at the TOIFA, Vancouver and  her Golden studded 'Anaikka' by Kanika Saluja jacket, for MTV India Music Awards. Androgynous is so her. I think she should stick to it. ( read this post to know more on- Androgynous Style and Styling tips )

DLF Promenade Fashion Bloggers Meet2013

19th March, DLF Promenade hosted a Delhi Fashion Bloggers Meet which brought together 12 fashion  bloggers from Delhi and Mumbai. All the bloggers were given a challenge to create either of these looks.. Androgynous, Monochrome, Resort-Wear, Formal-Wear, Neon& Neutrals, Pastels, Graphical using apparels, shoes and accessories from the in-house brands available at the mall including Zara, Mango, Bebe, Aldo, CKJ, lacoste, Clarks, Tommy Hilfiger, Sunglass Hut, FCUK, Steve Madden., etc.,. All the looks were the judged by ace designer Suneet Verma..

My choice of theme was Androgynous for obvious reasons( that's my personal style and is still kinda untapped in Indian Fashion scene) and styled this adorable girl Garima, who happens to be a class 12th student, listens to Jazz and loves dressing up like her favourite Jazz musician who apparently dresses exactly like this..

Leather pants, Leather bralette, Biker Jacket, Bow-tie, Studded flats, clutch c/o ZARA
What and Why Androgynous??..

In today's day-and-age, as modern Indian women feel the urgent need to be empowered, I feel androgynous fashion (thanks to the masculine elements) is the need of the hour. Besides fusing style and chic glamour  androgynous fashion might also be instrumental in making women feel a little more powerful -- at least psychologically. In fashion terms too, androgynous fashion has been a source of interest and intrigue for ages but today, as society's boundaries change, the androgynous look is in vogue like never before.

To put it simply, as Indian women become more independent and empowered, androgynous fashion can be the right combination of style, glamour, comfort and need for an archetypal desi female folk. It doesn't require you to put in hours and hours going through your wardrobe and sitting in front of your mirror to hit upon the right look. It's easier to don androgynous look and still you can mix up various elements right from your hair style to your shirt/top, trousers, shoes and almost everything and make it your personal style statement. So the possibilities are just endless. And since it's not very time consuming, it can come in handy for working as well as non-working women. It's the order of the day for all modern-day women.

Judges..

It was a wonderful and an enriching experience. Its nice to see that fashion bloggers in India are finally taken seriously. It feels great to be recognized with such events as Indian fashion blogging scene is still growing and these events are like pat on the back for our little contribution in this big Fashion Cycle.
Here are some other pictures from the Day..

TOP 10 Winter Trends straight from VOGUE INDIA + OOTD

I know it's coming late.. but it's Better late then Never.. I clicked a few pictures before heading out for Woolamrk's Wool Celebration Event last month.. I have incorporated the same with this post..

The following Top 10 Winter Trends are straight from VOGUE INDIA.. would try and come-up with more Outfit posts this season inspired these trends.

Winter is coming -- it may not be a long one, but we're stocking up on the essentials.

1. OVERSIZE
The must-have cocoon coat brings a softness to the season’s silhouettes. All together now -- supersize me!
2. HOLIDAY SWEATERS
From feathers and sequins to brooches, cosy knits go all out with embellishments.
3. KNIT DRESSES
Snuggle up to styles that cover the spectrum from effortlessly casual to supremely sexy.
4. CAPES
Work your flare with flair! There’s something about a cape that spells sophistication. Wear over skinny, not bulky, silhouettes.

5. GLOVES
Make like the ladies of Downton Abbey and embrace the refinement of this retro staple. Don’t settle for boring hues -- opt for buttery camel or striking jewel tones.
6. PURPLE
The colour of royalty is a great complement to the season's Baroque trend. We love plum tones in plush fabrics like velvet and silk for winter soirées.

7. VELVET BACKPACK
Chanel’s luxe take on a schoolgirl classic is sure to spawn endless waiting lists.
8. CIGARETTE PANTS
You’ll be smoking hot in the season’s beautifully fitted trousers.
9. CHECKS
Highland fashion is at its best — plaids, argyles and tartans all play starring roles this winter.
10. QUILTING
It’s no longer limited to your handbag. Introduce quilt to your wardrobe with a leather jacket.

I am wearing :

Oversized knitted sewater : Thrifted
Leather Pants : Forever21
Spiked Loafers: Kins
Leopard Print velvet Back-pack : some store , CP.

Outfit Of The Day : Featuring PepperCloset.com

Seems like a DECADE since I did an OUTFIT POST . Last time was.. I don't even remember.. PepperCloset.com sent me this Super Chic Leopard Print Shirt a few weeks ago.. ( really Sweet of them ) and Styling this was on my Agenda for a while.. I have been really lazy lately.. Blame it on the weather or Lazy me.. Today while lazying around, I came across a Barney Stinson quote and realised its TIME to "SUIT UP "

I am Wearing :
Because I am wearing a Statement Blouse , I kept the whole look simple . Like you can see I am just wearing a statement Ring in Black so that it doesn't take the attention away from the Blouse . I kept the footwear Dull Gold that compliments the Gold Buttons in the Blouse . and a Bright yellow Bag which I borrowed from my friend Aditi..
When Dressing up NEVER wear all your best together.. Keep it a little understated . I think a Everything Good is, NOT Good . There should be one thing in your Look that should be the Focus point while dressing up..and you should build the whole look around it.. Dressing up is one ART..!! Follow this Basic Rule while Dressing up and You'll never go wrong.. I Bet ..!!

Blouse : c/o PepperCloset.com
Jeans : Bangkok
Loafers : Stilettos , Delhi
Ring: Curio Cottage
Bag : c/o Aditi Sobti
