REVIEW: The Four Fountains Spa

Hello Lovelies..

I spent my last Sunday in major self-indulgence at, The Four Fountains Spa, Malad W, Mumbai..
All I can say now is,'A day spent at spa, is a day spent well'. I have always claimed to be a no spa person, the idea of going to a spa to destress was alien to me, but all this changed last Sunday. City life is monotonous, gives you no time for yourself, I also happen to suffer from the same problem. But I guess I have a solution now.. and my solution is just a spa appointment away.

Lovely people at, The Four Fountains Spa not just helped me chose the right massage, but customized it according to my problem areas and requirements. I went for the beauty massage with Swedish pressure and a much needed head massage, followed by hot shower and a cup of green tea.. Bliss!

My Experience: I was asked to fill a questionnaire prior to my therapy which helps in deciding the therapy better. I have medium to high stress level and my concern was skin tanning, so my therapy was customized on the same basis. I took a combination of beauty massage( for my skin concern and tanning) with Swedish pressure( for my stress and lower-back issues) and a head massage( for hair-fall problem and stress). Masseur can increase or decrease massage pressure according to one's requirement and problem areas.  After the massage you can chose to either to relax a bit or go for a steam bath, but no steam room was available the time I went, but I definitely want to take steam later sometime. Tiny shower room, attached inside the therapy room, has all that you need; Things like towels, slippers, bath-robes, their in-house shower gel and shampoo.

About The Four Fountains Spa:
The Four Fountains Spa is India's first chain of affordable health spas. Set up by 3 management graduates from IIM Ahmedabad and SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, it aims to bring the health benefits of spa therapies within everyone's reach, with their wide range of therapies and oils to chose from.

Locations: Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgoan, Bangaluru, Goa, Pune, Kolkatta.

Other Services
Choose from more than 20 Indian and international therapies for De-stressing, De-toxification, Immunity and Beauty. Therapies include massages, body polishes, body wraps and facials

My Verdict: I am definitely going back again, and yes, I recommend this to my readers.

Good- Affordable, Quality, serene ambiance , excellent service.

Not so Good: I wish they had more steam rooms.

Visit there official website for more information on their therapies and spa on wheels here-.>www.thefourfountainsspa.in

The Good and Bad from WIFW SS'14: Masaba Gupta

A lot has already been said, so let me come straight to the point. The clothes are beautiful ( well some of them exceptionally are) and color palette is summery (pinks and blues), yet a perfect balance of designer and her label's personality , that's where the splash of gold and black comes in. The only flaw that I see here(look at the pictures below) is, the fit of the show stopper dress could be much better ( finally, I also said it). Yes, the dress is perfect and suits the young and ever so effervescent, Alia Bhat's personality and  Masaba's  design sensibility( what she is really known for). BUT....
Alia Bhatt(left) and Masaba Gupta(right) , WIFW SS'14

My Take on the Look:
Now let me exaggerate(  hehe..) My degree in Fashion gives me leverage to be a little critical ( obviously in a constructive way). I think that length of the dress is too long for Alia, it should have been till her calf, with the kind of footwear she is wearing, it's clearly looking odd. Aesthetics of the whole look goes for a toss if these things aren't given attention, specially for a show as grand as this one.
Fitting too seems to be an issue here( refer to the pic where Alia turns on the ramp), I cannot ignore bulge on the back. Also, Backstage crew could have used a bit of steam ironing on hemline of the dress. All of that together is clearly making this a MAJOR Fashion Faux Pa.

Trend Alert:

Our favorite Gen Next Star designer is clearly obsessed with Dots, black and white stripes( make a note of that, Monochrome is still a Hot Trend ), Summary hues of Pinks and blues, Interesting Avant Garde bags are a few Spring Summer'14 Trends you can pick from Masaba Gupta's latest Spring Summer'14 Collection, showcased at the WIFW SS'14.

STREET STYLE: Bhawna Yadav of M.U.S.E

Street Style series is an attempt to capture all the fashion forward, well dressed people I see around me and document their unique style in this space, so that it becomes an archive of never ending inspiration for me and for other like minded people.

Today on the blog we have, Bhawna Yadav of fashion and style blog- M.U.S.E , my bff, soul sister and a contact on my speed dial. Few weeks ago, after an event, she asked me to click her for her blog, but I had another idea in my head. Yes, I decided to feature few of her here and I am sure, she'll love this surprise!

I have always admired Bhawna for her understated and classic style. When Bhawna had to style her look for a bloggers event in Delhi, she went ahead with the biggest fashion trend of the year, Monochrome and added a pop of Neon with her necklace. I personally love the Monochrome tassel bag and Neon statement necklace from her look. As always.. she looks effortlessly Chic and Gorgeous..

what do you guys think??

Street- Style: Nandini Bhalla in Anupama Dayal

With this post, I officially start the 'Street-Style' fashion series on the Blog and I couldn't think of a better MUSE and inspiration to start with. I came across this old picture of Cosmopolitan India's Editor, Nandini Bhalla, taken at the last WIFW and couldn't resist sharing with you guys.

Now, who wouldn't fall in love with this lady in quirky sari? The whole look is a perfect paradigm of Indian Street Style. Fun, Quirky, Desi yet Chic. Love the way she has styled this Anupama Dayal sari, keeping the look minimalist, to let the nautical stripes sari stand out. Now, that's how you have fun with Fashion..

This look has triggered my fashion buds and I am totally inspired to create a similar look.

what do you guys think??

In Nikhil Thampi : Sonam and Anushka

SPOTTED: Bollywood Fashionistas, Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma wearing designer Nikhil Thampi's creation in their latest brand commercials. In no time this young designer has made his mark in the fashion industry with his signature cuts, use of bold colors like black and gold, figure-flattering silhouettes and contemporary designs. Seems like, he is the best go to designer when it comes to styling such glamourous commercials, which we can certainly see in the below pictures; Body flattering, simple yet bold designs seem to work well with these Bollywood Divas not just in these commercials, but for the Magazine Covers, editorials and appearances. Soon this young house of talent has found admirers and followers among Bollywood's several leading ladies and socialites, who are frequently seen in his creations and at the various shows of the designer. Trend Alert : Sari with a Sheer Coverup Blosue

Do it just right.. Learn from these Bollywood Fashionistas

I am really impressed by Bollywood actress and Fashion's new darling, Kajol's recent appearence in a Masaba Fan print sari with a sheer coverup. While lot of people criticized the look, I on the other hand have a different opinion. We all go wrong sometimes, even she did with that bag. But apart from that, I love the idea of the sheer coverup blouse. It's a breath of fresh air from the backless, tube, bikini blouses, which have been used and abused in the name of modernizing the traditional 9 yards. It's just the right amount of style and class done right with no skin show.

I felt Deja vu, as this look reminded me of Kareena Kapoor's filmfare 2011 sari by Manish Malhotra in nude color. The swarovski and pearl embellished sari had a sheer full sleeves blouse which instatntly cought my attention and has been one of my Kareena's favourite appearance ever since. So.. I thought of sharing with you ladies how you can style a similar look just right.

Here is how you can do a Sheer Coverup in 2 different way--

Let's learn from Kajol first:  Best For Voluptuous Indian Full Figured Women

This style is Perfect for full figured Indian women with curves. For those of you who don't know, she is wearing a tunic, that goes till knees, as a blouse. But its not necessary for you to do the same. You can customize a blouse that covers up till your waist or lengths a little below your belly button, as this will define your waist and will make you appear much slimmer than you actually are.

You can chose the lining below the sheer coverup, which covers-up the area from waist to bust, from a solid color or color same as of sheer blouse's, according to your figure or your personal preference. But Keep in Mind that a darker lining under the blouse would help hide the tummy flab.

You can add a bit of detailing on the neckline or finish it with a cuff detailing ( like she did in the pic above)

Let's see what we can Learn from Kareena's look : Best for Slender and Lean Body Type.

This is style is perfect if you are slender, tall or have a well defined waist or flat tummy. This would look best with nude or earthy tone saris. You need not keep the blouse length long, unlike Kajol's ( in the pic above). Lining could be of any color, but you should ideally keep it same ( to flaunt that perfect figure ), giving just the right covering till the bust with long sleeves and a neckline of your choice. You can also define the neck and sleeve cuffs by adding details of your choice.

Or if you have any other idea, apart from this then do drop it in the comment section below. I'll love to share it on the blog's Fb and Twitter.

Also.. if you have missed the chance to participate in the #ALDOWalkTheRamp contest, here is your chance to do it-- ALDO Walk The Runway Contest

In Aanmika Khanna Couture: Sonam at Cannes 2013

In Anamika Khanna Couture, Sonam's red carpet look was an absolute stunner. I like everything from her hairdo to the jacket, Mother of Pearl Nathni ( nose-ring) from Sunita K's Jewellery line was apparently the only piece of jewellery she wore. Messy Bun and Jimmy Choo shoes completed her look.

In Sabyasachi: Vidya on the red carpet of The Great Gatsby screening, Cannes 2013

On the red carpet for the screening of The Great Gatsby, Vidya in another Sabyasachi Lehanga. This time in a 'Maharani' avatar, she looks like some ancient Indian Princess walking the red carpet, straight out of a painting from a royal palace. I see no change in hair and make-up. Vidya's pallu sure dragged all the attention and to add the perfect touch of Indian royalty and class, rani-haar( necklace) was the perfect choice. This look was Bang on for me!

Vidya Balan Kapoor at Cannes Jury Photocall : In Sabyasachi Sari

One stunning look after the other, Vidya Balan Kapoor is fashion scene's new darling and my new favourite It-girl. Breaking the Sabyasachi stereotype, she looked absolutely gorgeous in her second appearance at Cannes, for a jury photocall. As you guys can see in the pictures, she didn't change much compared to her first appearance(  read here ) in terms of hair-do and make-up; Turned her braid into a bun and make-up was again very sun-kissed and neutral.

Style War: Who wore it better??

Monochrome : Making a statement in almost similar Monochrome dresses are- Vidya Balan Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. But big question is, "Who wore it better?". Vidya's stylist surely did a great job, by hiding all her problem areas and extenuating her slim waist line, messy side braid and statement earnings;Vidya's look is aesthetically eye pleasing. I say, Job well done . whereas, Sonam did an open hair look with a statement necklace and a belt , both in gold. For the first time I am a little disappointed by Sonam. Her stylist could have done much better than this, in terms of styling.
Vidaya is a clear winner her! What y'all think??

In Dior: Who wore it better?

It was Red Dior dress for both, Anushka and Chitrangada. But the million dollar question is, "who wore it better?" Anushka wore it first, for Elle's March cover and I think she looks stunning. It took me a while to recognise her at first( blame it on her new lip job or bangs), but it'll be true to say that, she looks nearly perfect in the cover; accessorized well with metallic cuffs and neutral make-up for to dress stand out; Perfect look for a magazine's cover. Whereas, Chitrangada wore this Red Dior to launch Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone. It's a difficult dress to wear, considering the extra fabric hanging on one side, but she made it look effortless. What I didn't like in this look is, her hairdo. A pulled back, sleek hair in a pony tail would have made it look less messy. Not a great idea to wear your hair open with this dress, especially to an event. Its Anushka for Me! What y'all think?

Sonam Kapoor in Manish Malhotra

Sonam Kapoor walked the ramp in this stunning Red Lehnaga, for bollywood's most celebrated designer, Manish Malhotra. Loved how the look was kept simple to let the Lehnaga's(skirt) stand out, keeping it simple with blouse and dupatta. Clean side-swept fish-braid and red lips made this look a Hit!
