OOTD POST: Summer Love

My last OOTD was sort of an experiment, rather random. But, when I decided to shoot the second one with my photographer friend, Jay, it had to be better than the previous one.

This outfit styling post portrays my love for summer. Yes, I love Summer, I love the sound of it.. from flowers to colors, clothes to lemonades, practically everything it offers, except for the drying heat. It leaves me dehydrated. But lets concentrate on the positives ONLY and take a look at the pictures *__*

About the outfit: I styled this Forever21 string dress in facebook blue color with tan and coral, one of my favorite combinations. The coral lady bag is from Zara and the footwear is from D&A, Delhi ( last seen here), necklace from Zara and rings and bracelets are from Blur and Forever21, all in gold. I am wearing aviators from MacV, Mumbai.

Makeup is neutral and understated, keeping in mind the weather and outfit. I love gold, you'll always find gold dominating my accessories. This bag and necklace are my most treasured possessions from Zara and these block heels in tan and coral are the most comfortable pair of heels I own. This is my perfect no hassle summer look, a basic summer dress, a sling bag, comfortable footwear, not too many accessories, a great pair of sunnies and you are good to go. Rose water spritzer from Forest essentials, sunscreen with SPF40 from Clinique, water and these aviators sunnies are my favorite summer staples. What are your summer staples? do share with us!

I'll be back soon with another interesting post :)

Outfit Of The Day1 at The Rajasthan Fashion Week

My Day1 at the " Rajasthan Fashion Week 2012" was so Magical and Fashionable as I expected it to Be..and Those of you ..who missed the Highlights post.. you can catch it Here

After the last Fashion Week.. I realized  attending them is one Fashionable Affair.. You just not  have to LOOK Your BEST but also FEEL Comfortable in what you are wearing.. Because you are Not Some Model who just have to walk the Runway and then get outta that dress.. You have to sport it for the rest of the Day..(Unless you are a Celebrity or some exception..) So wear something that's..

1. Comfortable- You have to spend the rest of the Day( few hours) in the same outfit..so I chose my all time favorite Jegging and a White Asymmetrical Shirt ( last worn Here )

2. Make a Statement - Because its Fashion Week.. you can't just wear your favorite Tee or Jegging ( in my case) .. You sure don't want to feel like some Alien among all the best dressed people..In short.. you should look you Stylish Best..

3. Keep it SIMPLE and YOU-- For example- If you are not a Dress person( like Me) you should NOT wear it just for the Sake of Fashion Week (or some other Fashion Event). The Outfit that you wear and how you accessorize the whole Look should be just YOU.. Its Not the RIGHT Day for Going over the top and Dressing like someone else.. So No Major Experiments..They might  turn out into BLUNDERS ..!!

4. Others- I am a Big BAG person.. because I carry whole lot of stuff.. You dont have to do that..!! That's what I learnd .. Carry the few essentials.. and keep it as light, as possible.. coz you have to carry that for the rest of the Day..So I carried my Favorite Orange Side Sling Bag..
FOOTWEAR is an essential part of the look.. so if you are not feeling comfortable wearing it .. It will ruin the rest of you Day.. Its not the Day to deal with shoe bite rite?? Because Fashion Week requires a lot of walking and running around.. So I wore my favorite Tan Wedges..

(Opinion Expressed above are from My Personal Experiences.. They might differ from person to person..)

Here are few pics from The Day.. I managed to Convince VOGUE India's Photographer, Mr. Vinod Kumar to click mypics everyday.. for Blog Posts..!!

I am wearing-
Shirt - Splash
Jeggings - Shoppers Stop
Bag - Kamla Nagar
Shoes - South Ex II
Watch -Aldo Accessories
Necklace - GK 1, M-Block
Bracelets - Forever21 and Customized

There are two more Outfit Posts from the Fashion Week.. So watch out this space in case you wanna know what I wore.. *__*

you can write your Suggestions and Feedback in the Comment Box below  .. I LOVE Reading them..

SUIT UP !! #TangerineRemix

  #  This Post is my Entry for  #_InFB's Tangerine Remix *__*

  #   How you can recycle your Mom's Closet..

When we were given #Tangerine as a theme for _InFB for remix I had no clue what to wear.. I went through my Closet but.. couldn't find anything that's apt for the theme.. Until yesterday.. when I realized that I have this"Salwar Suit " from my Cousin's wedding .. I wore this outfit on her Engagement(which was in April'12).. with Statement earrings and my all time favorite "Aldo gold watch.."
The Salwar and Dupatta  are actually  from my "Mom's suit"( look at her pic below )

My Darling Mommie! She wore Same Salwar Suit to another Cousin's Engagement a  year before ..

Since..My Mom got this suit.. I wanted to steal it.. so.. when recently I was suppose to shop for my cousin's wedding I saved instead.. I asked my friend Mansi Batra , who is a fellow design student and  Boutique "Myra"..to do the suit for me that matches with the Dupatta and Salwar.. So we both sat down and did the whole design and chose Slik as fabric in Orange Color with Kundan work detailing on the sleeves and hemline..

I love experimenting with my Mom's Indian wear and My Dad's old shirts and Pants..
You can check some of my previous posts for ideas here..

Hope the post was of some help to you Ladies.. And in-case you want to share, suggest or recommend anything .. you can either drop a comment below.. or shoot me an email here- confessionzofacloset@gmail.com

DIY: Ballerinas+ OOTD

Few Nights back.. my Creative Juices were over flowing.. :p So ..I DIYed my favorite old pair of Ballerinas..
I didn't do much.. Just played with fabric colors on the Ballerinas like a kid.. and it turned out GREAT and COLORFUL..I was looking for a colorful pair of flats.. as I think they go well with everything.. and I don't like Neons or Lot of colors in my Clothes.. accessories are a great way to incorporate trends like Neons and Pastels.. so I thought why not Re-New my old pair of Ballerinas..

Take a Look ..

BEFORE

AFTER

I am not a "Morning Person", I am an "Insomniac" and I am most active during the Late hours ..like right now..its almost 3am and I am writing this post.. that's why I avoid clicking pictures in the morning.. because I get dark circles and also that My face bloats a bit.. which eventually settles by afternoon..
Also.. I was always..Skeptical about wearing colored pants.. specially Pastels.. because I think I have heavy thighs.. but when I finally wore these Lavender Pants to college the other day.. They really complimented my legs.. Infact.. my legs looked leaner and long..

Here are some early morning shots..taken by a friend ..right outside my college.. I clubbed Lavender pants with an Off-White Cotton Top , Pink Laptop Bag and DIYed flats.. with no accessories, to Keep its Simple.. that's How I Like It.. <3

Blogger Confession- Neon Green Sari with a Twist..

Okay ..I have a honest confession here.. I have been dreaming about this whole Outfit since I saw a celebrity wearing a similar Sari at a recent event .. so this OOTD Post is inspired from that pic (not copied)
I am a big FAN of Saris .... and  My MOM is a typical Sikhni and ONLY wears Salwar suits to all the weddings and other occasions.. so there was no hope and source of wearing Sari at home .. But as a kid.. I enjoyed playing leads in almost all the Costume Dramas in school  because of my super amazingly, lustrous ,long curly locks and a Face that reminded my teachers of some Goddess or Princess evrytime they were casting for a role.. that's how I wore those Banarsis , Kangivarams , Patolas.. for school dramas.. (mind it .. all these saris were arranged by my teachers.. some of them even were their own.. coz my mom doesn't wear them)  and then obviously on Teacher's Day and Farewell..(again had to borrow from my cousin and auntie )

But just a few days ago ..In a raid of my Mom's closet I found this Sari ..which was a gift..and had been laying there for years.. and here it is now.. Draped on Me *__^ I wore this Neon Green Sari with a Twist.. I combined it with a Sheer Blue Shirt (as a Blouse) to Color-Block ,traditional Golden jewelry and a side waterfall braid..

[ I am wearing- Sari: Mom's ; Blouse/Shirt- Thrifted ; Watch- Aldo ; Bangles-G.K ; Cuff- Splash ; Ring-Forever21 ; Earrings - Forever21 ..]
